HAPPY New Year – How many times have you said that in the last 48 hours?

January 1st, 2012 No comments

This morning I was thinking about it being the beginning of a new year and all that brings, new goals, new dreams, new resolutions. Wait, I bet you think you know where this post is going but you really don’t!

Since I’ve decided to focus on “Happiness Is” and being “happy” this year it struck me that the word “happy” has probably been said more in the last 24-48 hours around the world than at any other time of the year.

I can’t count the times I’ve said it to co-workers, friends and family in the past week and I bet you can’t either. Plus for everyone who was in a crowd on New Year’s Eve or at a party…well you get what I’m saying.

The word HAPPY has been spoken around the world too numerous times to mention as we transition from 2011 to 2012. I personally think it’s an absolutely awesome way to start a new year with the word HAPPY resounding around the world!

Today, Happiness Is for me, saying “Happy New Year” and knowing that I’m speaking more than the word “happy” into the world by saying that!

What is your Happiness Is…moment for today?

Happiness IS Getting the DMV Employee to Smile

December 23rd, 2011 No comments

Today I needed to update my address on my NV Drivers License which required a trip to the DMV. It’s the day before Christmas eve and the DMV is going to be open tomorrow 12/24 on Christmas Eve and then closed on Monday 12/26.

The women at the window I was called to – to take care of my business didn’t appear to be having a satisfactory work experience. So I went out of my way to be friendly, warm, smile and engage her in conversation.  By the end of our  transaction she was chatting and SMILING!

I hope that I was able to share a little moment of happiness with her!

What was your “happiness IS…” moment today?

Sabrina Weston

P.S. As I was walking out the door of the DMV I was able to hold the door open for a man pushing his wife in a wheelchair and to wish them a Happy Holiday! Sometimes it’s just the little things that I can do for someone that bring me happiness :)
